Pappas Taverna

This is honestly the best Greek brunch I’ve ever been to. I was genuinely shocked by how good and how diverse the food was — everything from fresh seafood, oysters, prawns, scallops… you name it. The octopus, the salad, every single dish was incredibly delicious. I ate so much, probably more than I’ve ever eaten at any brunch in my life, because I simply couldn’t stop — everything was too good. The desserts were amazing as well. Drinks, the vibe, the beautiful outdoor area, the incredible DJ — the atmosphere was just perfect. It’s the coolest brunch I’ve ever experienced, and I highly recommend visiting. The price is also very fair for the amount and quality of food they offer. The whole vibe is super fun and warm. A girl even came to us to do a little tarot reading, and we got a cute instant photo taken — such a nice touch. I loved everything about this brunch, and I will definitely be coming back. Highly, highly recommend this place!

I checked out the brunch at Papa’s Tavern at W hotel on Sunday , and I have to say, it’s one of the few places in Abu Dhabi that actually understands Mediterranean food. Not the fusion version, not the "inspired by" version — the real thing. Now the food… that’s where they really impressed me. The flavors are honest and clean, and the quality is obvious. The seafood was fresh in a way that you don’t see often at brunches — the oysters tasted like they were opened right before serving, the octopus was incredibly soft, and the grilled prawns had this perfect smoky touch. Even the simple dishes, like the dips and vegetables, had that classic Greek brightness. What I liked most is that nothing tasted like it had been sitting out — everything felt like it was made for people who actually care about food. You can taste the olive oil, the herbs, the freshness. It’s comforting but also rich in flavor. Desserts were also worth it — not overly sweet, more on the traditional Mediterranean side, which I personally loved. The atmosphere is easygoing, the staff is warm, and the outdoor space is perfect with DJ performance and dancers If you’re looking for an authentic Greek/Mediterranean brunch with real flavors and fun outdoor vibe - that’s the place you should look for!

Papas Taverna offers a simple yet lovely atmosphere, the dishes are elegant and enjoyable. My personal favourite were the carrot hummus, octopus and tuna tartar but the grill section is very well handled too ! Overall a very good experience framed perfectly by the DJ set.

What a formidable experience! We had a wonderful family dinner at Pappas Taverna this evening. Everything was perfect, but the service was the real highlight. ​Special thanks to Nirmal, Ikrizia, and Sagar – you guys are legends! Thank you for making our night so memorable. We had a lovely meal — the Greek food was excellent, the decor charming, and the staff friendly. Almost everything was perfect. The only small details that could be improved: it would have been nice if they had proactively offered or brought additional pita bread without us needing to ask, and if they had waited until everyone was finished before clearing plates. That said, the overall experience was great, and we’d definitely come back!

Pappas Tavern located at the W Hotel on Yas Island, is a great spot for a delicious Greek meal. The place is cozy, with both indoor and outdoor seating. When we arrived it was hard to choose either to enjoy the relaxed vibes with soft Greek music inside or sit outside to take in the view of the W hotel and fountains, which is really nice. The atmosphere feels like a little Greek village with traditional music in the background, so it’s easy to feel like you’re in Greece. It’s a really comfortable and welcoming spot to enjoy Greek meal. The food here is amazing, I was truly impressed! I loved the tzatziki - very fresh and creamy, the octopus was perfectly cooked, soft, tasty with stunning presentation, and the lobster pasta was a real treat. But the best part was the orange cake (portokalopita), it was absolutely delicious! I couldn’t stop enjoying it! The staff is super friendly and took great care of us, which just made the whole experience even better. They also have a good wine selection to go with the food. So if you’re in the mood for authentic Greek food in Abu Dhabi, definitely check out Pappas Tavern. It’s perfect for a casual dinner or a special night out.

Such adorable staff!! Food is amazing! Especially they way it was presented: small portions in a small plates of each item so you can taste them all without creating a food waste.
